Yasmeen Arafsha, a Dental Hygienist with a passion for prevention and education. Yasmeen graduated from King Saud University, Riyadh in 2010 and has been practicing dental hygiene for almost 12 years with over 10 years of experience in treating medically compromised patients and patients with special needs. She presented in several national and international conferences as a speaker and chairperson. She is one of the founders and acting members of the Saudi Dental Hygiene Society. A member of the Western club of the Saudi Dental Hygiene Society and a Board member in the Emirates Dental Hygienist Club. By Becoming an iTOP student and later on trainer, her communication skills and oral health education knowledge was moved to a new level especially through adopting the touch to teach philosophy.
In 2017, she founded the HOPE project: Hospital Oral health Patient Education. The program mainly aims to improve preventive dental care and educate hospital patients and staff on the importance of oral health and its relation to general health.
In 2018 she created an Internship program for dental hygiene graduates coming to King Faisal Specialist Hospital. The program was made of several modules including clinical skills, communication skills and management of medically compromised patients. She has been active in the field of volunteer programs in different countries such as Kenya, Egypt and Saudi Arabia.
Outside the dental hygiene world, she is also a horsemanship enthusiast, a proud owner of a horse called Gypsy that teaches her kindness, patience, and confidence. She has some experience in the field of music and visual arts, and she is a member of the improved acting community in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She has also studied musical theory and vocals, creative writing for commercials and short movies, and did a voice acting part as an actor in a kids’ audio series on storytel. She is also learning to play the ukulele and violin. All these mixed experiences shaped her into a person who understands the beauty of different personalities and cultures.
